ARE JAMIE LYNN SPEARS' SHOES HOT or NOT?

MISS SIXTY - Caitlin (Yellow) - Footwear

In a photo seen online of Jamie Lynn Spears, one has to ask whether her outfit was hot or because she was sporting a pregnant tummy; not hot at all.

My problem with the outfit was not that it left her shoulders naked or that her fuller than usual breasts could have born a little more support to look more perky and controlled, but that Jamie Lynn Spears feet were in a pair of sexy shoes that looked downright dangerous for a pregnant mom.

The yellow platform, slingback pumps had spike heels that are not a wise choice for ladies with baby bumps that might have them, shall we say, off balance. If she must wear platforms, a thicker heel or even platform heels might be a safer choice while still offering the look of a long, shapely leg.

L.A.M.B. - Daniella (Natural/Yellow) - Footwear

She would have been just as cute in a pair of pretty thong sandals or even partying in her bare feet! Somebody needs to tell this pretty girl that there's no need to put herself in danger of falling just to look sexy! Hike the boobs up and skip the teetering spike heels, please!

CELEBRITY STYLES and the HOBO BAG

Crunch Leather Top Zip Hobo

What sets the celebrities apart from the rest of us where wardrobe is concerned is often the fact that they don't seem to let the fact that they may only have one outfit that looks fabulous with any one pair of shoes or an expensive handbag that doesn't match but one outfit. When I saw this yummy robin's egg blue hobo bag, I began to run over how many dresses or suits that I could wear it with to justify the price.

Blue, pink and white look wonderful with basic black, right? Not to mention khaki, saddle brown and many other colors. Let this be reminder to us all that we don't have to stick with basic brown or black leather purses to get our money's worth.

This scrumptious baby blue hobo bag will be so much more eyecatching than a plain old hobo handbag in a lesser color, don't you think? Perhaps we can learn a thing or two from celebrities about drawing admiring glances. I'm making a commitment to expand my inventory of hobo bags and I'm going to do it with funky colors and designs. I'm going to stop playing it so safe, within reason. Why the hobo handbag? Because I like the way they look on the arm of my favorite celebrities, of course!

BEST GEL EYELINER TIPS and TECHNIQUES

Not being blessed with lovely, large eyes and long lashes has pushed me to be pretty dependent on eyeliner. I once considered giving permanent eyeliner tattoos a shot but chickened out; I was that sick of eyeliner that had no need for an eyeliner smudger. It smudged, creased and ran very well all on its own. It just never stayed put.

For a eyeliner styles that give a smokey look with undefined edges, it's hard to beat pencils or crayons if you are brave. But it's just hard to beat liquid color applied with a brush for a dramatic look. For a retro look, I have used a technique that involved a broad band of white and a thin black line closer to my lashes. Lookout Twiggy, we're going back to the 60s!

If you exercise or shed the occasional tear you will appreciate gel eyeliner. Even the worst gel outpaces the BEST old time liquids for staying power. The best liquid gel eyeliner that I've tried so far is the Bobbi Brown eyeliner gel.

Here are some eyeliner tips that may make applying eyeliner a less stressful event:

  • Coat both sides of the brush evenly. Don't just put the product on one side.

  • Be certain not to load the brush to heavily. Wipe off excess ahead of time to avoid globs of liner where you don't want it

  • Work from the inner corner of your eyelid to the outer edges.

  • Make short, steady strokes to carry your color across the lid.

The only complaints that I have about this brand of gel eyeliner are that the product dried up pretty quickly (Smashbox's product was just as bad) and the second thing is that it takes a really good eye makeup remover to get it off. This is both what I love about gel eyeliner and what I hate about it....I love that it stays on but I hate the effort it takes to remove it.

MAC MAKEUP COUPON CODE

It's ridiculous what people are charging for shipping a tiny envelope filled with cosmetics. Some Ebay merchants charge an arm and a leg for packing and services as well as postage. I've paid as much as 5.99 (do they think that I think I'm getting a freebie by knocking off one penny to avoid six bucks?) for an eyeliner that weighed a few ounces!

There was a time when a discount shipping offer barely made a spot on the radar of discount bargain shoppers searching for completely free product samples and buy one get one free offers. Nowadays we are paying more attention to those sneaky, high shipping fees and we realize that free shipping can offer significant discounts.

Use this MAC COUPON CODE for free standard shipping: BRUSH. There is no minimum purchase required to take advantage of the promotional code and it works with anything you buy. You just have to pull the trigger before April 26, 2008.

The great thing about M.A.C. makeup products is that they are free of oil. And the cosmetics that are not oil free have natural oils like jojoba oil and orange oil. As our skin ages, these natural oils help us by preventing water loss of the skin. If you can hold the moisture in the skin, your skin looks younger.

Here's the legal stuff: Just because we have put coupons on this blog doesn't meant that it's been released for use by the general public. You must be certain that you are eligible to use any coupons or coupon codes according to the merchant's terms and conditions on use.
The display of this information does not entail that it has been released for general public use. Please ensure you are eligible to use this coupon code under the merchant's terms and conditions. stylesfromthestars is not to be held responsible for the accuracy of details or the possible misuse of this information as presented.

Got all that? Good, now go to MAC and buy some some so they will put out more coupon codes for discount shipping and maybe throw in some free makeup?

LARGE CELEBRITY FRAMES - BIG SUNGLASSES WORN BY MOVIE STARS

"Have you seen those big sunglasses that everybody’s wearing?" I suppose each generation thinks they are the first to sport lenses that are so huge they could almost be called windshields or sunscreens instead of glasses. However, even I have to say that we haven’t seen designer shades this big in quite a few years.

Some fashion columns are making the statement that Jackie Kennedy Onassis was the last diva that wore glasses this large. She might have been the last super sophisticated lady that wore them, but the fashion has never really gone away. There are always those who feel more chic with their eyes and therefore their emotions shaded in mystery.

Jackie O was just one famous face that I can remember taking measure of the world from behind smoked glass lenses. There have been many who considered this a look worth pursuing such as Janis Joplin, Yoko Ono and others who were known to have classic beauty that didn’t need camouflage of any kind.

Speaking of camo, shades with saucer sized frames have long been the veil that hid the black eyes carried by the victims of abuse. Women that didn’t trust makeup to cover their shiners had little choice; style was not a consideration. For others, the decision to wear these monstrously large sunglasses is a daring fashion statement.

There are a few rules on how to choose the size and shape of your glasses if you want them to be large, but in charge.

  • Never pick a frame that’s wider than your face or that is bounced up by your cheek when you smile
  • Pick a shape that is in direct contrast to the shape of your face. Example: If your face is round as a full moon, try on some square or octangular frames
  • Accept the fact that big sunglasses are not for everyone. Don’t be a slave to fashion to the point that you are running around looking like a child that’s stolen her mom’s glasses. It would be best to pick smaller sizes of the hot shapes and styles than to completely overpower a petite face with big sunglasses

Emilio Pucci Shoes to Die For! HOT ANKLE STRAP WEDGES SHOES ALERT!

LOOK AT THESE EMILIO PUCCI PINK PEEP TOE WEDGES at
zappos.com they are SKU #7360211

GO NOW!!! YOU MUST SEE THEM BEFORE YOU CONTINUE READING.

Don't wait to buy these Emilio Pucci shoes on sale! While I couldn't post pictures, they are without a doubt the most unbelievably fabulous pair of womens ankle strap wedge shoes of the season. Stop reading right now and take a look at these wedge shoes. If your competition in fashionable endeavors shows up in these 4 to 5 inch cork sole wedge heels and you don't have a pair, you will be sick!

If the sexy, narrow ankle strap and the high heel wedges don't give your legs a long lean look, then I'm not sitting here salivating over these peep toes...and believe me, I'm drooling, sister. The designs on these lady's wedge heel platform soles are eye catching and colorful. The idea behind wearing footwear with a distinctive heel is that your admirer's eyes will travel from your feet up the calf of your leg. These shoes were made to make any woman's leg look desirable with just the right view of her pretty toes that the peep toe pumps offer. Whatever you do, do not wear nylons and spoil the look of your pedicured female feet.

Not only do they expose your sexy, polished toenails, there are cutouts that lightly skim and disply the high arch in your foot.

I hope I've convinced you that the sheer design of these Emilio Pucci Shoes is stylish enough to carry you from spring to fall, but if I have not the colors should make up your mind. Hot petal pink and funky periwinkle blue are your color options and while they aren't discounted or on sale, you've got to have a pair in your closet.

You might find a pair of cheap, lady's wedge heel shoes and I know the Emilio Pucci shoes are not what you might call inexpensive, but when you are walking down the street with men straining to see your legs, you will thank me.

LA LA LOUIS VUITTON FALL 2008

Stuart Weitzman - Rollpump (Red Soft Patent) - Women's

The spring flowers are not ready to peek through the ice and snow, but here we are fast forwarding to Fall 2008 runway fashions with the Louis Vuitton show.

Marc Jacobs is such a hottie that it's hard for a girl to keep her eyes glued to the models, but my efforts paid off as I spotted a wild pair of very high heel red wedges in what may or may not have been an exotic skin. The pattern on the shoes resembled eel skin, and I'm not even certain if they were Marc Jacobs shoes. They were quite a pair with a pale dusty blue color which was an unexpected but wild combination as stated by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Wedge heels and platforms seem to be the style that's coming our way. Not surprisingly, Marc Jacobs designed some classic styles that we saw a few decades ago being worn with platforms and wedge heels in a very interesting and modern style. Long jackets were given a very chic, French feel with crisp lines. The collars were what made a profound statement; very interesting flares and drape.

Get ready to slick your hair back into an upswept chignon or a tight bun. No need for elaborate hairstyles when fashions can do all the talking.

HOW TO APPLY EYELINER like AMY WINEHOUSE

Whenever a celebrity breaks out with bold, black eye makeup we are hit with loads of questions on how to apply eyeliner. The average lady might not want to wear such dramatic black eyeliner during the day or for that matter; every evening. But the principals of applying eyeliner are basically the same no matter whether you prefer wide eyeliner designs, smudged lines or a thin almost invisible look.

Many instructional videos are filled with helpful tips and techniques including more dramatic styles such as is preferred by many movie stars to highlight their eyes when on the stage as well as singing or rock stars like Amy Winehouse.

The use of eyeliner is not limited to girls, some male stars like the look of heavy black eyeliner on the top lid as well as under their bottom lashes. There may be as many men or more buying instructions on how to apply eyeliner as most moms don't think that their parenting duties extend to giving their boys lessons on the art of makeup application.

AMERICAN IDOL'S JASON CASTRO - DREDS or DREADS

http://stylesfromthestars.blogspot.com/

When I quiz my friends on their opinions of the outfits, makeup and hairstyles of the previous night's American Idol episode, we usually agree on the winners and losers of the evening. Today was unusual in that on the issue of Jason Castro's dreadlock hairstyle the votes were split pretty much down the center.

Some of the girls who are much more trendy that I could ever dream to be and whom I expected to consider the appearance of dreds to be cutting edge and stylish were surprisingly opposed to this cute guy's fashion statement. One gal pal said if he'd cut the hair that he'd be her favorite hands down, and another said she'd rather see the return of the huge 70s style afro rather than Marley dreds.

Some of my more conservative (unofficial of course)voters who are sticklers for classic haircuts and tradition shocked me by slobbering all over themselves over the dreadlocks. Well, maybe not the dreadlocks themselves, but the handsome guy with the guitar who just happened to have them attached to his head.

No matter how you feel about his hairstyle, Jason Casto has charisma. He might not be as strong a singer as David Archuleta, but there's no denying that Jason has star appeal much the same as a young Bob Dylan. I know that Simon and Randy wanted to hear more vocals and less strumming, but I think the audience was loving the whole package...dreds and all.

IF "BITCH" IS THE NEW BLACK WILL EVERYBODY BE WEARING PANTSUITS?

Can Hillary Clinton possibly appreciate all the "Bitch is the New Black" jokes going around? Does she even know that the statements are directed at her and depicting her as a power hungry, ball busting masculine sort of femme fatale in a designer skirt or pantsuit. Does she really care?

Probably not! She has not become so well positioned politically by being thin skinned and sweating the small stuff. If she will focus on the big picture of building this country back to the level of greatness in the world that it once enjoyed the same way she has tunnel visioned her way into the political spotlight....hang on people we're going up like a rocket.

But then again, this blog is not about the political arena. Leave running the country to experts. I have had ever so much fun observing Hillary's fashion metamorphosis over the years. Remember how people criticized the large blue hat that she wore so long ago for hubby's swearing in? Then people began harping on the pantsuits and what that might be telling us about the hierarchy of the Clinton household post Monica.

I couldn't help but notice that once Ms Clinton became a senator, her grooming seemed to suffer. One might hope that she had bigger fish to fry than spending time perfecting her hairstyle and practicing eye makeup tips. I hope that Hillary has a plan in place for all of her campaign promises and that she hires a really great personal shopper.
